The font validates ok but just not showing up in Illustrator. Today the Type team’s mission is to make sophisticated and even experimental typefaces that explore the possibilities of design and technology. I have installed a font (makibafont) in Font Book however it is not available in Illustrator but it is available in Photoshop and other apps. If you’re not sure what font is missing, both InDesign and Illustrator have Find Font dialog boxes that give you more information and let you choose a substitute font. The Adobe Originals program started in 1989 as an in-house type foundry at Adobe, brought together to create original typefaces of exemplary design quality, technical fidelity, and aesthetic longevity. You are given the opportunity to open the correct font on your computer and the problem will be resolved. When fonts are discovered to be missing when an Adobe InDesign or Adobe Illustrator is opening, you’ll get a dialog (this is the one from Adobe InDesign). And once you install the fonts, it will be available for all your programs and not just Illustrator. From the sounds of it, you are not using a Font Management program such as Suitcase. This would cause problems if you wanted to share your file with someone working on the other platform. If youre on a Mac, place the fonts in the 'Fonts' folder of your user 'Library' folder. I dont use Font manager and I have system fonts + ca 100 more because I just changed computer and I havent downloaded so many yet. Font shows up in Photoshop but doesnt in Illustrator.
